Trainers, consultants, top managers and board members working for the NGO sector do not have an easy task when thinking of their own professional development and personal growth. They are all very busy, they have been to many workshops and trainings, some of them are tired,
others think they know best…
Where do you go once you are there?
The Czech Fundraising Center was founded by NGO leaders, trainers and consultants. We have been thinking for years what we could do to keep moving forward. Summer School for Trainers, Consultants and Leaders Working for Non-Profi ts is the answer we propose. For the first time ever, we invite you in Audust 2010 to join us for a week of sharing, training, playing, talking, walking, biking and much more. This brand new “summer school” format has been developed on basis of the following thoughts:
- NGO trainers, consultants and leaders (“TCLs”) are mature people who inspire and can be inspired – they need no one to walk them by their hand. This also concerns training, both in terms of content and format.
- Tough we all know best, we all have much to learn from one another – training, consulting and management/leadership tactics, techniques, games, methods, workshop dynamics and design and a whole lot more.
- For TCLs, it is sometimes hard to correlate their professional and family lives. Our summer school plans to integrate families into the entire program. Participants are invited to bring their families along, we provide both joined and separate activities and options for all, including children and dogs.
- For TCLs, it is sometimes hard to fi nd the time to relax. Our summer school plans to integrate active relaxation into the agenda. We believe that much fruitful discussions can be undertaken when hiking and that the greatest vision may formulated when looking into distance from the top of a mountain.
Our Summer School will take place at Eko Sport Hotel Montania in Jizerské hory along the northern border of Czech Republic (bordering Germany and Poland), in a place ideal for walking, hiking, biking,in-line skating… in a place you can meet a deer, if you get lucky. All program and communications are in English.
Prices for the entire whole week include accommodation and full board:
a) for TCL EUR 400
b) for TCL’s family member or second person from the same organization EUR 250
c) for kids up to age of 12 years EUR 126
d) for dogs EUR 18
Members of the Club of proffesional fundraisers have a special discount EUR 250.

Trainers
Jana Ledvinová is a trainer and consultant of Resource Alliance, a nonprofit which builds the fundraising capacity of civil society organisations around the world. Prior to joining Resource Alliance Jana was director of the environmental education organization Tereza. She has fundraised millions for kids and environent and worked with civil society groups in Central and Eastern Europe and Middle East.
Jan Kroupa is a senior trainer, consultant and researcher of the Czech Fundraising Center, which he co-founded in 2000. Jan has over 15 years of experience working with various CSOs and CSO projects as a consultant, evaluator, facilitator, trainer, author, translator and interpreter. Currently, he chairs NETT, the Civil Society Think Tank (www.nett.aid.cz) and works as a senior consultant with Podnos, a service organization focused on evaluation, management analysis, community development, training and publishing (www.podnos.aid.cz). Jan Kroupa is active as a board member to several Czech and International CSOs.
