Is Good Expensive?
Dear colleagues,
Following a thorough consideration, we would like to inform you that we decided to postpone this year’s International Fundraising Festival to April 2011.
This is due to coincidence of several reasons:
- the major IFF donor – the International Visegrad Fund – finally rejected our proposal for this year;
- our extensive fundraising campaign has only been partially successful, because of the lack of time we had, so we are still several thousand EUR short from breaking even;
- the financial crisis has been hitting the region with a delay – some of festival partners were not able to cover their expenses and there was a significant drop in the number of registered participants in comparison with the previous years at this point in time.
All in all, we concluded that the capacity of the CEE region may not be ready to hold a major international event like the IFF every year. For this reason we have decided to turn IFF into a biannual event.
We deeply regret that we will not have the opportunity to meet and to talk with you this spring. Nonetheless, we are very much looking forward to staying in touch and to seeing you in April 2011.
Good turned out to be expensive after all.
