Fundraising is at a crossroads globally, Interactive Workshop, 90 min.
Fundraising is at a crossroads globally. Diminished resources, hesitant donors, and many organizations that will simply be too weak to survive will make great demands on professionals in the sector. Fundraising has never been about money – it has always been about leadership. Those leadership skills are derived from a broad background of literature, history, the humanities and psychology, and, when implemented, have the capacity to bring an organization forward in new and productive ways. When we speak of „well rounded“ leaders we are describing those rare leaders who seem to draw on deep resources from their knowledge and experience, and apply those things to their work. The resulting success is shown in many ways, including successful fundraising. Kay Sprinkel Grace is known globally for her „systemic“ approach to fundraising and philanthropy. She will share the books, ideas and people who have had an impact on her ability to succeed in our complex and fascinating profession.

New ways to produce publications – online and offline – save the environment and your money!, Interactive Workshop, 90 min.
Producing publications is a major expense for many organisations. Pressure to reduce costs is rising, particularly with the current economic downturn. New ways of online “web-to-print” production will change the way of artwork composition.
So you can do any of your publications without incurring too much design costs or pulling your hair over finding different designs and concepts. This also gives way to have a unified look for products/publications across your organisation and save costs. The Web-To-Print technology is more than just an in-house solution. It offers all Organisations new possibilities and advantages to develop their marketing and print communication and learn within our network from each other.
The urgency of climate change is demanding we act now to safeguard mankind’s future on Earth. But is it possible to produce environmentally friendly publications while at the same time being cost-efficient? Yes it is, as the case study from WWF-Germany proves. Is Good Expensive? – NO!
Participants will receive a workflow document with uniquely compiled information to help move their own organisation towards environmentally friendly and cost-efficient production. Anyone from NGOs or agencies involved in publications or production and interested in saving money whilst safeguarding the environment will benefit from attending this workshop.

Dobry Anjel , Interactive Workshop, 90 min.
Traditional advertisement and branding as we know it has been changing dramatically due to IT development, social networking and globalization. What clearly dominates the messy mass of products is TRUST to a brand. And trust is the often quoted magic formula of Corporate social responsibility (CSR) development. Only most managers have no clue how to go about building real, solid trust. What they do know is that trust cannot be developed through traditional product marketing. The International Fundraising Festival provides corporate managers with the unique opportunity to think through philanthropic issues together with people from non-profits, in order to master the idea that CSR is not about giving money. It is about transforming business and management experience and incorporating it with experiences that exist on the civil society side in order to achieve truly beneficial impact.”
Andrej Kiska won the Slovak price “Manager of the year 2006” and co-founded the most successful nonprofit charity in Slovakia called “Dobry Anjel”. After 15 years of work in the business he decided to sell his companies. Since then, he gives his attention entirely to the nonprofit sector. He is extremely skilled and successful manager and his experiences will bring very challenging and innovative views to the NGO marketing, fundraising and transparency issues.
Breaking the NGO Cycle of Poverty, Interactive Workshop, 90 min.
Is good expensive? Anything is expensive if you don’t have the money. And if you don’t have the money we say you are poor. Poverty is a cycle. It is a continuous cycle for people until they decide to break away from it. Poverty is a cycle for NGOs too. It is a continuous cycle until NGOs make a decision to break away from the cycle of poverty. It is hot about being lucky. It is about being deliberate. The majority of the world’s NGOs are poor. A minority of the worlds NGOs have enough money to do their work and do it well. How does the cycle of poverty work? How do you break the cycle of poverty? What are the things you need to do? How do you get started? What results can you expect? How long will it take? How much money will it cost? This is not a happy topic. But it is real. If you and your organization want to break the cycle of poverty join Tony Myers for a lively, thought-provoking and challenging session on Breaking the NGO Cycle of Poverty.
